The FDA has approved our powerful, conveniently-sized models as capable of offering:
1) Increased local circulation (important for people with restricted circulation in the extremities) 2) Reduction of pain (neck, back, joint, etc.) 3) Improved range of motion 4)Muscle relaxation, offering decrease of tension and spasms
Frequently Asked Questions
Treatment times vary widely from individual to individual and situation to situation. Start with five to ten minutes per area and adjust times or settings as necessary.
How does this therapy actually work?
Photon Therapy temporarily increases localized circulation and reduces pain. With a 30 minute treatment researchers have documented increases in localized circulation of 350% and greater (up to 3200%). Increases in circulation are a fundamental basis for the healing that occurs when medical professionals use ultrasound and whirlpools. Please look at our clinical studies, especially the article entitled Therapeutic Light.
Why are some diodes visibly bright while others are not lit?
The lights that appear not to be lit are in fact functioning but they are not visible to our eyes. These infrared diodes are beyond the visible spectrum of human beings.
How quickly should I expect to see improvement?
In some situations, such as osteo-arthritis with pain and limited range of motion, we often see people notice a difference with only a 20 - 30 minute treatment. In most situations we recommend treatments daily for a week to ten days and expect changes within that time. In our clinic we have noticed acceleration in the inflammatory process, which initially can exacerbate pain.
Why is this therapy called photon therapy?
Non-substantive particles of light called photons have no mass and no charge but are electromagnetic in nature. It is these photons that interact with cellular tissue, producing what is called photobiomodulation, i.e., healthy changes in the body.
What is the NICO setting?
A programmed pattern including settings # 2, 3, 4, and 5 in five minute cycles. NICO automatically runs for six cycles of five minutes each. This composite setting works well with most musculo-skeletal problems.
What is the best setting for acute pain?
Setting 7 is the best setting for pain. Setting 7 combined with NICO works well, too.
